Earth's Abode/ Prakrtih
Nestled in the outskirts of Bardoli town, the Earth’s Abode demonstrates the opportunities for net zero living, inspiring the people to rethink sustainable living practices. Specifically crafted built mass blends with the surrounding natural environment and gives the opportunity to users to connect with nature.
Architecture is crafted like an Art where instead of conventional modes of construction, sustainable construction techniques are incorporated. The use of Earthen Walls reduces thermal heat gain and maintains a temperature 5 to 7 degree cooler than outside. The material palette for the project is kept minimal, limiting to the use of Rammed Earth walls, Filler Slab, Exposed Rcc and flooring in natural stone.
The layout is kept minimal with cubist forms, keeping the built masses of optimum size and leaving more space for the landscape to take over. The mango tree court is carefully sited between two built masses i.e. dormitory and banquet hall.
This net-zero Abode surrounds itself with an organic farm that serves the concept of farm-to-table.
The living experience is choreographed to be humane with a minimal material palette that opens out into inner courtyards.
