The Slashed occupies a unique and prominent location in Bardoli; located at the junction of 2 roads with a public plaza fronting canal road allows a strong relationship with the surrounding to the building. The project “Slashed” epitomizes the goal of Luxury Multi-Brand Commercial Space. The protruding massesact as a canopy above the entrance plaza, acts as a sculptural centre piece attracting visitors to the premises. The programme comprises three Luxury Commercial Spaces for international brands. The visual Dichotomy of the protruding masses being supported by a slanted array of columns adds dynamic drama to the structure. The robust mass covered with red coloured M.S mesh is getting cut by the means of a dynamic slit that contradicts the Brutalist Concrete mass. As well as it rises slightly rises from the ground and levitates above the plaza it opens up to a public enclosure. Further, the wrapping of M.S sheet that acts as a thermal barrier with algorithmic perforations to penetrate light in and out of the mass. The ventilated perforated skin provides excellent performance as both a day-light provider and effective protection against heat gains, while at the same time allowing users to benefit from natural ventilation.Whilst, located at the corner of 2 roads, the Slashed is more than just a Retail Space: with plazas open for public use. The “Slashed” will be setting new standards for Commercial Space in Southern Gujarat with the integration of smarter building systems. The building is designed to cater to user needs and demands and to respond to user patterns.
