Valley Scape
Located along the banks of the Purna River in Vagech Village, Navsari District, this project envisions 35 residential units that harmonize with the natural landscape. Comprising 25 Type A units and 10 Type B units, the design prioritizes connection to the river, embracing the site’s contours to offer each home a privileged view of the water.
The Type A units, single-story residences, are positioned in three stepped layers, allowing every unit unobstructed views of the river. Each unit consists of two bedrooms, a living and dining area, a kitchen, and an indoor courtyard. Central to the design is a private swimming pool that extends the experience of the river into the residence. The units engage with the natural topography through a raised entry and a ground-level waterbody, creating a fluid relationship between architecture and landscape.
The Type B units, two-story structures, emphasize verticality while maintaining connection to the natural surroundings. Each unit features a splash pool and a waterbody, reinforcing the role of water as a central design element. The ground floor integrates with the land, while the upper level offers panoramic views of the river.
Materiality draws from the local context, utilizing stone, glass, and concrete to blend the structures into their environment. The architecture seeks to dissolve boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating an atmosphere of openness and serenity.
This project is an exploration of architecture that enhances and interacts with its natural surroundings, fostering a deep connection between the residents and the riverine landscape. It embodies a sensitive approach to design, where each element—light, water, and material—works together to create a tranquil, immersive living experience
